Extracellular Matrix of Animal Cells

Picture
Extracellular matrix is made up of glycoproteins secreted by the cells. These glycoproteins proetin are called collagens. These collagen are embedded from proteoglycans, they are consist of a small core proteins with many carbohydrate chain attaching to it. In the extracellular matrix there is another protein called fibronectin. They binds to the surface of the recpetor proteins called the integins that are built into the plasma membrane.
